Jan-Peter de Graaff is a composer and conductor in the field of modern classical music with the ambition of establishing himself internationally. With a new opera on the horizon, Jan-Peter asked me to completely redesign his website with this goal in mind.
With this website, visitors get a complete look on Jan-Peter de Graaff’s oeuvre, from operas to solo pieces. While before, the information on each composition was scattered, now you can find everything there is to know about his works, both old and new.
Three target groups
Jan-Peter de Graaff has three target groups he wanted to appeal to:
a) Music lovers: people who want to listen to performances or attend concerts in person;
b) Professionals: musicians or organizations interested in performing Jan-Peter’s pieces or commissioning a new composition, and;
c) Media: journalists who want to know more about Jan-Peter.
My goal was to make the user experience better for each of these groups.
For music lovers I created more background information about each composition so that they’ll understand the meaning behind them. They also now have better access to upcoming concerts and audio/video recordings.
Professionals now have more information on the score and instrumentation, so that they have everything they need to see if the composition fits in their program.
And finally the media got updated information to Jan-Peter and access to a newsletter so they’ll be updated on recent developments.

The end result is a website that elevates Jan-Peter de Graaff on an international level in a way that differentiates him from other composers and the rest of the music industry.
